Once a year, community members, family, and friends of Robert Lee Lucas ride their motorcycles as part of an organized fundraiser in his memory. “Lee” was a 27-year-old son, brother, and father who lost his battle with drugs after becoming addicted to opiates prescribed to him for a back injury. All proceeds of the ride go to a charity of Lee’s family’s choice which strives to rehabilitate people who struggle with drug addiction. This annual event not only raises money for these organizations, but increases awareness of resources available to people who want to get clean. Everyone who rides is participating in the celebration of Lee’s life and the fight to end the addiction epidemic.
