At Wilbert’s U-Pull It, we are honored to display a creative piece of student artwork that carries a powerful environmental message. This thoughtful drawing was gifted to us by Reagan from Newark Middle School, under the guidance of her sixth-grade science teacher, Mrs. Saccardi.
The artwork was designed with a clear mission: to raise awareness about the greenhouse gas effect and the pressing issue of pollution. “The mission statement and or reason for the project was to make people aware of the greenhouse gas effect and pollution. The main goal was to inspire people to plant trees to assist and help combat the problem. We also wanted to inspire people to come together as a team to complete this environmental task”, said Reagan. Through vibrant colors and meaningful imagery, the student aimed to inspire individuals to take action by planting trees and supporting environmental initiatives. The drawing serves as a call to unite as a community, emphasizing that teamwork is essential in the fight against climate change.
The student artist thoughtfully chose to represent people of all colors, shapes, and sizes, working together to plant a new tree. “I chose the style of my drawing to show unity between people of all diversities. The main goal was to show all walks of life can work as a team to save the environment. This is why I chose people of different colors shapes and sizes. They all worked together to plant a new tree.” This depiction of unity highlights the belief that everyone, regardless of background, has a role to play in protecting our planet. It’s a touching reminder that collective efforts are the key to making a lasting difference.
Mrs. Saccardi’s leadership and dedication to fostering environmental awareness in her students are evident in this heartfelt project. Her commitment to education and sustainability has clearly left a lasting impact, encouraging young minds to think critically about environmental issues and take meaningful action.
We extend our gratitude to Reagan and Mrs. Saccardi for sharing this inspiring piece with us. It serves as a daily reminder of the importance of environmental stewardship and the strength of community action. Know that there are always ways to contribute to preserving the environment and to get involved in the local community. As we approach Earth Day on April 22nd, take a few minutes to brainstorm how you can help an environmental cause that’s close to you.
