The recent Automotive Recyclers of the Northeast Convention & Tradeshow held in Verona, New York, proved to be a landmark event for industry professionals and enthusiasts alike. Spanning two days, from September 13th to 14th, this year’s convention attracted hundreds of attendees from across the northeastern United States, making it one of the most significant gatherings in the auto recycling sector.
Wilbert’s representatives attended the convention at Turning Stone Resort & Casino with the intention of building upon past business relationships and forming new ones. The event lineup featured expert speakers on key industry topics to boost company success, plus an Expo showcasing the latest tech and services to enhance operations and service. The event serves to teach and connect recyclers and encourages them to discover new ways to grow.

The convention’s lineup of keynote speakers was impressive, with experts addressing topics ranging from sustainability in auto recycling to the impact of technology on the industry. Some of our very own team members, third-generation member of the family, Aaron Wilbert, and General Manager of Wilbert’s U-Pull It, Tyler Petrie, gave a presentation at this year’s event. They spoke on the topic of Community Impact and the benefits of being involved in local communities as an auto recycler. They spoke from personal rewarding experiences on the importance of forming a bond with neighbors, surrounding schools and education centers, emergency services, businesses, and both current and potential customers. Pictures from hundreds of events ranging from facility tours and job fairs to DWI Awareness demonstrations and parades showcased the vast array of ways a company like Wilbert’s can get involved. Building brand identity and gaining trust and loyalty while creating opportunities and answering questions for people interested in the industry is a win-win experience for everyone involved. Aaron and Tyler shared what they had learned over their years with the company while recognizing there was still a lot of room to grow and improve. They hoped to impart on the room ideas and a feeling of excitement about leaving an impact on their communities.
